There is something going on today that tends to get overlooked. Today is International Justice Day. Our friends at Mocha Club have put together a really powerful video about why it’s important for us to remember this day. As a band this is something we think is important. We believe that it is our responsibility to stand up for those in need. Your responsibility, my responsibility, ours. We will stand up.

So please take a few minutes and watch the video above.

Also, our friends at Mocha Club are launching a new website. It’s an incredible site and we would love for you guys to check it out. Addison Road really belives in the vision of Mocha Club. It’s a way for you to stand up and make a difference. To be a voice. To promote justice.

If you would like to join the Addison Road Mocha Club Team (and get a free AR cd for signing up) click here.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to look at all of this. Help spread the word and happy International Justice Day to you!

Urgent Prayer Request

Hey guys. Many of you know that we support a ministry called Mocha Club. In fact, many of you have joined our project within Mocha Club called the Village of Hope. All of you who sign up for Mocha Club under Addison Road have been supporting the Village of Hope project. It is a safe-haven for single mothers and their children to get education, medical care, and other basic needs.

Today we received an email from Mocha Club letting us know about some scary news with the Village of Hope. Please take some time to read the following letter and pray for the safety of the people living in the Village of Hope.

The “school” being refereed to in the letter below is in fact the Village of Hope.

-Ryan

Dear Family and Friends, WE HAVE A VERY URGENT NEED FOR PRAYER!!!

It is with a heavy heart we write of our urgent prayer need. We truly appreciate and covet your immediate prayer support. There was an anonymous letter received at ACTION office while Jerry was gone for the Grassroots Leadership Training on the border of the Congo. The contents of the letter stated very clearly that (quoted in part), “I am glad to inform you that we are going to burn down your school.” ACTION Gulu’s school is called Jesus, The Good Shepherd Primary and Nursery School. It also clearly stated that four of the staff would be killed if we did not return to America and if David (Lilly’s new husband), our School Supervisor, was not dismissed. The four were Candis, Lilly, David and our Nursery Head teacher, Jackie.

This letter was taken to the Police who in-turn took this as an urgent and serious matter and engaged in police protection and started an immediate an investigation. We closed the school promptly in protection of the 148 children in the Primary School. (The Nursery school is already out for their holidays).

There are suspects and they are now under investigation. Other Gov. offices were alerted. Though all shaken, we know who our true protector and deliverer of such evil is…. the Lord Jesus Christ!

WHAT TO PRAY:
1. Pray for God’s protection. Pray for Him to send His ministering angels as He did for Daniel in the lion’s den and shut their mouths. (Daniel 3:28)
2. Pray against our “real” enemy who is satan. (Ephesians 6:12)
3. Pray those trying to carry out this threat, that they would be apprehended and in the course of time come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. (John 3:16)
4. Pray as we work with the effects of traumatized people that have endured a long horrific war of 23 years, that God would give ACTION staff discernment, love and wisdom. This is some of the effects of such trauma in people.
5. Pray we can see the Victory and that the Lord is lifted up and that for what was meant for evil God turns for His good. (Genesis 50:20 & Romans 8:28)

Raise awareness of the joy and hope that exist in Africa, and begin to reform the inaccurate perception that Africa is a continent only of despair. Are you in? Purchase the shirt for yourself or a friend for $20 – or, get it for free when you join Mocha Club for $7 a month. And YOU get to choose the project it supports.
