I LOVE it!!
I sorta feel that way too, Jenny. I still love Christmas, but for a whole different reason. I realize (and have realized for a long time) that Santa isn’t real. The One who is real is Jesus Christ, and all the more reason to celebrate his birth on that night. That’s what I love doing, celebrating Christ on Christmas. For we all know, Christmas begins with CHRIST.

And the invitation is open.”

That is moving and heart-warming to me. Too visualize Jesus with open arms and me running to him both scared an excited.

It’s all about the promise. The promise of a redeemer who would deliver us. The promise of a love so great and deep that no one could ever imagine. Yes, Christmas has become commercialized and politicized (if this is a word), but in the realm of what it means is a love, a peace, a hope and a promise that is beyond anything we could ever fathom.

It reminds me of the lyrics to the song called Christmas Day:

‘C’ is for the Christ child, born upon this day,
‘H’ for herald angels in the night,
‘R’ means our Redeemer,
‘I’ means Israel,
‘S’ is for the star that shone so bright,
‘T’ is for three wise men, they who traveled far,
‘M’ is for the manger where he lay,
‘A’’s for all He stands for,
‘S’ means shepherds came.

And that’s why there’s a Christmas day,
And that’s why there’s a Christmas day.

May your days be Merry and Bright! May the promise of Christ warm your hearts and lives!
